Sonas Advice & Outreach Support

You may still be living with your abuser, be planning to leave, or have already left to rebuild your life. Whatever point you are at in your journey to safety, our outreach workers can offer advice and information to help you, and your children keep safe.

What can I expect from the service?

An outreach worker from our Community Team will meet with you at an agreed safe location, wherever you feel safe and comfortable.   

Outreach workers may offer support with:

  • Personal safety and safety planning
  • Access to Social Welfare where eligible 
  • Accessing medical and health services 
  • Court preparation and accompaniment 
  • Accessing local community and cultural services
  • Emotional Support 
  • Contacting the Gardai  
  • Improving the safety of access with children  
  • Post separation abuse
  • Referrals to other services
  • Building self-confidence and independence
  • Discussing the effects of experiencing domestic abuse
