Sonas’s work is made possible by funding from CUAN – The Domestic, Sexual and Gender-Based Violence Agency

As of 1 January 2024, funding for domestic violence services is provided by CUAN – The Domestic, Sexual and Gender-Based Violence Agency, which has assumed responsibility for these services from Tusla – The Child and Family Agency.
Sonas also receives additional support from the Victims of Crime Office, under the Department of Justice.

Tusla – The Child and Family Agency

As of 1 January 2015, local authority funding of domestic violence services transferred to Tusla – The Child and Family Agency. Sonas previous to that date was funded by the Department of Environment via the Dublin Region Homeless Executive on behalf of:

  • Dublin City Council,
  • Fingal County Council
  • South Dublin County Council
  • Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council
