Sonas Safe Home is emergency accommodation for women and children who have to leave home due to domestic abuse and need a safe place to explore their options
What can I expect from the service?
A member of our Support Team will meet with you to discuss your situation and explain the service to you.
Our Team will support you with your individual needs. This might include support with:
- Personal safety and safety planning
- Access to Social Welfare where eligible
- Accessing medical and health services
- Court preparation and accompaniment
- Accessing local community and cultural services
- Emotional Support
If you have children, a member of our Children’s Support Team will meet with you and the children, to discuss what supports they may need.
What is the accommodation like?
Accommodation is in self-contained apartments or houses, with a fully equipped kitchen and living area. We have one-, two- and three-bedroom units.
How long will support be provided for?
Support is assessed on a case-by-case basis depending on need. Additional support is available on leaving Safe Home by way of Sonas Outreach service.
